FAQs
Find answers to common questions about our services and how to get help.
How do I get advice?
You can contact us by phone, email or visit one of our offices. We also offer outreach services in your community. There’s no need to book ahead – just get in touch and we’ll help you.
If I see you do I need to bring any paperwork?
If you have any documents relating to the issue you want help with then it is often very helpful to see these to get the full picture of your circumstances but don’t let that stand in the way of contacting us for help.
Is the advice really free?
Yes, completely. We don’t charge for any of our advice services, regardless of your income or the complexity of your problem.
Will you keep my information safe?
Your privacy is important to us. We follow strict data protection rules and keep everything confidential.
Can I volunteer with you?
We’re always looking for volunteers. Whether you have professional experience or just want to help your community, there’s a role for you. Check our current vacancies page for opportunities.
What topics do you cover?
We advise on benefits, debt, housing, employment, welfare support, family matters and much more. If you’re not sure whether we can help, just ask – we’ll point you in the right direction.
Is there anything you cannot help with?
There are some issues where we might need to put you in touch with other trusted organisations, perhaps for example because we are not authorised to give advice on that topic – eg – if you want advice on how to invest your money & savings. We would always explain why and help you to find the best and most affordable way to get the help you need.
